Izzy Stark

Izzy Stark (AverageIzzy) is a visual artist based in her second home, Sarasota, Florida. Originally from rural Illinois, she traded cornfields for sandy shores when she moved to Florida in 2015.

In 2024, Izzy earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from Florida International University in Miami.

She currently works professionally within the Department of Academic Affairs at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she supports the administration of three academic majors.

Her work has been featured in multiple exhibitions across Florida, including Sarasota, Boca Grande, and Miami.

Notable shows include Blurred Identities at Pan American Art Projects (2024) in Miami and Beyond Comfort, Art Center Sarasota’s regional juried exhibition, where she received a Merit Award in 2024.

Izzy's work acts as both mirror and filter, a way to process complicated themes of womanhood, queerness, and the forces that challenge the artist's own identity. She often works with text and graphic design elements to deliberately inform the audience and deepen the interaction. She finds the most fulfillment when the work invites a response, when it becomes a shared dialogue rather than just an angsty expression. Through this, Izzy hopes to plant seeds of connection and community. Her goal is to create a space where the internal world meets public discourse.
