Virginia Hoffman

Virginia Hoffman is a multidisciplinary fine artist whose practice centers on sculpture, drawing, photography, and printmaking. For over four decades, she has explored form, material, and perception through a studio-based practice in downtown Sarasota, Florida. Her work investigates the relationship between structure and space, surface and light, often moving between two- and three-dimensional processes to expand visual language and meaning.

Hoffman’s sculpture reflects a deep sensitivity to balance, material integrity, and spatial presence, while her photography and works on paper emphasize tonal nuance, composition, and quiet observation. Printmaking and encaustic processes allow her to layer imagery and surface, creating pieces that feel both tactile and contemplative.

Rooted in sustained experimentation, her fine art practice evolves through shifts in medium while maintaining a consistent commitment to craftsmanship and conceptual clarity. Across disciplines, Hoffman’s work invites viewers to look more closely, rewarding their attention with subtle complexity and refined formal relationships.
