Izzy Stark
Izzy Stark is an artist based in her second home, Sarasota, Florida. Originally from rural Illinois, she traded cornfields for sandy shores when she moved to Florida in 2015. She received a foundational art education within the Visual and Performing Arts program at Sarasota’s own Booker High School, graduating with honors in 2020. In 2024, Izzy earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History from Florida International University in Miami.
Returning to Sarasota, FL, Izzy worked within the Department of Academic Affairs at Ringling College of Art and Design, where she supported the administration of three academic majors.
She now works as the Exhibitions and Digital Media Coordinator at Art Center Sarasota.
Her work has been featured in multiple exhibitions across Florida, including Sarasota, Boca Grande, and Miami. Notable shows include "Blurred Identities" at Miami’s Pan American Art Projects in the summer of 2024, "Beyond Comfort" at Art Center Sarasota, where she received a Merit Award in 2024, and "Day Dreams" at The Morean Art Center in the Spring of 2026.
Izzy's work acts as both mirror and filter, a way to process complicated themes of womanhood, queerness, and the forces that challenge the artist's own identity. She often works with text and graphic design elements to deliberately inform the audience and deepen the interaction. She finds the most fulfillment when the work invites a response, when it becomes a shared dialogue rather than just an angsty expression. Through this, Izzy hopes to plant seeds of connection and community. Her goal is to create a space where the internal world meets public
